First things first, meet the crew

February 11, 2017

Whoa, first blog post ever. How do I even get started? After some thought, and some unfinished stories I thought there’s no way I can start writing about my life without first sharing my family with you.

my family
Thanks, Ali! Alison Moore Photography

This is my family, “my people”, and yes I know two out of the three might actually be animals, but you know what I mean. We share a roof, four walls, food, water, air, and bed (yep the dogs snuggle their way into bed more often than not)  three hundred sixty five days a year. Without further ado, here they are:

The Human

husband family

First up we have, Nate. Without this guy right here I would never have my keys, wallet, badge for work, or even occasionally shoes on my feet when I walk out the door. He’s an Air Force veteran, pilot, MBA student, and investigator of scary-sounds-in-the-night extraordinaire. He is literally the calm to my crazy and I see/deserve the above face at least once an hour.

Next up we have, Penny. She is my real life teddy bear. If there is a lap available, she will occupy it. Immediately. Meaning, before your knees reach ninety degrees she will be curled up and making herself right at home. (As evidenced by her cameo in Nate’s photo) Don’t let that sweet face fool you, though. If there’s food involved she has the perseverance of, well, a dachshund.

Last, but certainly not least we have our rescue, Sydney. There aren’t many words to describe this one. We are convinced she hears voices and/or sees ghosts. Her sweet sweet spirit is combined with a toothy “smile” that most find absolutely terrifying. When she’s not jumping for and missing the ball, she’s stretched out on her back with her feet in the air dreaming of squirrels. While she might not be as cuddly as Penny, she is just as loving,

Well, there you have it. My people. We hope to be adding to the family sometime soon, but for now it’s just us coexisting, living, laughing, loving,  in our little townhouse in the beautiful Pacific Northwest.
